What do you reckon are te best settings to get the best pics/vids? I was on the viewty forum and they say it can take a lot of adjusting for the pics to come out nicely.

you really don't need to do much for general shots, I haven't really done that much adjusting, autofocus and normal settings should be fine for 90% of the pictures you'll take.

Check out some of the pics i've been taking;

Only adjustments I did to do those were;
Flash off
Macro mode on

;)

Most of the 'adjusting' was done after on the pc, if you're interested in that part of it I can give you a few pointers.

Just want to ask, the phone im getting is on 3, but im going to be using a payasyougo 3 sim card in it, as it was a friends unwanted upgrade, i heard the screen locks when you phone someone, will i not be able to top up when i need to enter a code in?

You can unlock the screen during a call, it just defaults to being locked. Which can be a little frustrating but you certainly shouldn't have any problems with using it.

Hmm, I find the 5mp quality pretty appalling tbh. The pics are very noisy and sometimes it looks a bit like a watercolour painting :/

They only seem to look half decent if I scale them down but then whats the point of a 5mp camera if they only look good scaled down!

I had a Nokia N93 before which was alright.

Like I said before though if you scale the images down like on your flickr they looks fairly decent. But at full res the pics are very noisy even in bright sunshine and a lot of purple fringing.

no cameras look good at full res bar high end stuff, even £300 compacts look poor at full resolution, they're not MEANT to be viewed like that, purely for printing purposes really.
