I bought the LG W2363D about 3 weeks ago because it had high praise in being a gaming monitor and yes it was, it had great response time and nearly no input lag but there were quite a few things that I disliked about it so I am trying to get a refund for it. One thing is the anti glare coating leaves a horrible grainy like layer on the display which is very distracting. It also had a backlight issue were parts of the screen would be darker than other parts.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any alternative for the LG that would be in the same price range £100-£200 have low input lag but better quality than the LG?

The other 120hz monitors aren't as good or aren't any better than the W2363D, so forget about them.

I'd go with the Dell U2311H. It's an IPS with great response times and has far better image quality than the W2363D. It's 60hz but I believe the image quality difference outweighs that limitation. I hope to be buying one soon.

One thing to note, however, is that this display is DVI ONLY. So you'll need adapters for PS3/360 etc.

Wonder if there has been a bad batch of LG W2363D's as I've just returned one this morning?
Strange, I had the opposite problem with an annoying light patch about the size of a thumb print behind the surface.

...or maybe the review batch has been sold and, with job done, the mass production has now hit the streets.
I'll still try another as fault aside this monitor is awesome for the price.

BTW - noticed a few posts on here and elsewhere asking if the LG W2363D can run at 120Hz with AMD HD5xxx series. I believe early drivers would not recognize 120Hz and only offered 60Hz refresh rate.
Can report that running this monitor runs perfectly at 120Hz - 1920 x 1080 with latest Catalyst 11.7 drivers on my HD5850 Toxic.
Furthermore with vsync and triple buffering on this combo takes your breath away.
Finger crossed for replacement...

It doesn't work like that at all. It is in the manufacturer's best interest to provide a review sample, usually through their public relations company, that will be entirely represntitive of the final product on the 'high street'. Sometimes they will provide early pre-production samples but invariably these are worse than the final product, not better. I speak from experience here. Also it is hardly a new product - it just happens to have received a lot of attention recently as the price fell comfortably below that critical £200 mark. It was first released around a year ago at over £260.

Sent by BenQ's PR department but I am confident it hasn't been cherry picked at all. If you remember back to our EW2420 review you will recall that we purchased the unit ourselves from normal retail stock. Performance is essentially very similar to this EW2430 although colour is better balanced by default on our EW2420 and gamma takes a little more correction. Being an experienced reviewer I can tell you that if it isn't the manufacturers who provide the products directly then they are very rarely cherry picked. If they have been well-used previously then they reach you in a more sorry state than they would if you purchased new. I think if you've read our XL2410T review, which was a review sample provided by BenQ's PR department, you will see that picked cherries were not on the menu.

Anyway I hope your replacement is better - it is nothing to do with 'review' vs. 'normal' but everything to do with the inter-unit variability that naturally exists in the LCD monitor world. LG is certainly no stranger to this with their panels.
