I recently purchased a 2017 LG TV as a second TV for a new property.

I have a persistent and really annoying issue where Youtube will suddenly stop and I'm met with a message stating "This app will now restart to free up more memory"

I've Google'd the issue and taken various steps ranging from resetting the TV to factory settings as well as uninstalling all the other apps but to no avail.

Any other LG owners facing this issue?

LG support were hilarious and infuriating.

A young lad answered, was brutally honest and said he merely passed messages from one side of the office to "tech support" on the other. Most of the call consisted of Jordan moaning about his colleagues and saying "They're ignoring me now.. ", "They're making a coffee" etc..

Long story short the reason they stated was I'd "used up all the memory in the web browser". Of course this is crap as I'm using the YT app not the browser which I've never used.

Jordan, sounding like he was about to hand his notice in, took my details, gave me a reference number and authorised a return/refund.

Never had that problem on 2 LG 2016 models we have in the house, are the other apps working ok and not throwing errors up?

5 On demand does the same thing. Not really used the other apps enough to confirm or deny they produce same symptoms.

Last night TV "locked up" and despite restarting it I could even watch terrestrial TV. Had to turn if off for 5 mins to even get basic functions back again.

I literally uninstalled every app other than the LG apps it won't let you remove.

Ok well seem you have tried everything i guess its refund time.

You getting backlight bleed on this tv its just a friend had one and he had awful yellow tinting in the corners.

Can't say I've noticed any but due to the layout of our kitchen/family room I have to sit at an angle to the TV so I probably wouldn't be best positioned to see.

I think I've sat face on once but didn't notice anything at the time.

Good question.

I've got a 55JU7000 Samsung in the lounge which I've been really happy with but wanted something smaller for the family room and decided to try LG for a change.

When I get time later I'll see what 4K TV around the 43" size are available and take it from there. This LG cost me £419 so looking to spend around the same.

Be careful with the the LG 4K sets... many are faux 4K with RGBW structure. I'd stay away from those, so just do your research so that you know what you're getting.
