Hi all, I have an LG 48 CX monitor (ok, ok... TV) and a Philips BDM4065UC 40 inch as my secondary side display.

The Philips unit might be on it's way out. Can you guys recommend a goods replacement for the Philips? I'm thinking simply going for a 42inch version of the LG CX as I simply love the LG 48 CX screen.

Space is at a premium in current home office, and I have had to strategically downsize my operational computing spatial environment workspace (euphemism for: "kiddiewinks bedrooms now take prioty in the house":) ) so won't go bigger than 40 or 42.

Cheers guys :)

If it's a side monitor is there any need for OLED?

Maybe give us an idea of what you do on this secondary monitor and also a budget. If you are considering a 42-in OLED then we can assume your budget is 1000 and below.

I'm basing this on the £974 Costco price of the C2 42"

Hey @Noxia, thanks, generally it's my side screen for supplementary documents, Teams chats / meetings, or music / videos: if I'm WFH. Gaming wise, it has no use other than to display some pc system stats whilst gaming (I have my watercooling temps and monitoring, etc).

But, I'll use it for anything basically, a bit Minority Report styleee - will just move windows over back as required. If I could get another Philips, I probably would go for it - it's bright, sharp, and crystal clear. Had an Acer Predator cg437kp brielfy, and compared ot the Philips it was horrible.

I realise another OLED is probasbly overkill, but they're just soooo amazingly good. Yeah budget is capped at 900-1000 absolute max.
