Looking for a big upgrade from my now on its last legs I7 4770K which is 8yrs old and no longer fit for purpose and will be buying ITX Mobo and common sense tells me that the upcoming alder lake seems to be the way to go for me - but can fine very blittle about Intel ITX boards release dates etc and specs of the AS Rock are about the only thing i have seen

in view of the fact my current PC is dying a slow death when are we likley to be seeing what is coming in regards ITX intel boards

Well looks like it will be a slow roll out initially, no definitive date, but will be ITX boards I expect from usual suspect given Asrock are listing one. Dates will be TBA on them, suspect may not come out initially with the CPU's but who knows.

On Alderlake being common sense route, not sure why it would be the way to go definitively. Makes sense I suppose to see how it pans out, but until performance numbers are actually shown, then is a question mark. AMD right now on there side have extremely capable CPUs so while it will be worth waiting to see how Alder Lake goes, would not rule AMD out, more so moving from your 4770k which a modern Zen CPU will handily outperform.

LGA1700 hasn't been launched yet.

What's your budget for a new system? The new LGA1700 boards are going to be expensive because of the need for PCI-e 5.0 and DDR5 chipset costs. If you're not looking to spend a whole lot on a new setup, rather stick to AM4 or LGA1200.

Also, if you do want DDR5, remember that the size of the modules start at 64gigs (I think they will make 32gig DIMMs though) so go price a really good 64gig DDR4 pack of RAM and see if you can stomach it.

plan is to get the alder lake I5 and use my 32gb DDR4 3600mhz ram along with 3 M.2 drives i have already have a small case i use and like along with a good PSU will be using onboard graphics as i am not a gamer photoshop is what i doo (99%) of the time

if there are no LGA700 ITX boards i will have a rethink
not repared to wait till summer for a decent board to appear
