Hi all,

I'm looking to build a low profile HTPC using the Antec Fusion Remote Black case, and I already have the following components that I would like to use:

Intel Q6600 G0 SLACR (using it's retail Intel cooler)
Plenty of DDR2 memory

I was looking at the Intel DG45ID mobo but customer reviews around the web aren't the most positive.

All I want to do is use Media Portal via HDMI to an AV receiver that feeds through to a TV. I am hoping to get decent 1080p video performance and 5.1 audio through just the HDMI

So what MicroATX motherboards have you guys successfully used in the past, and also is there any advice on the PSU? (looking at people who are already using the Antec Fusion Remote Black case)

Thanks!

You best bet will to be buy any mATX board and drop in a cheap and chearful graphics card.
An AMD HD6450 or a nVidia GT520. (you can get passive versions of both to keep the noise down)
They will pass anything up to DTS-HD/MA through to your reciever over HDMI.

Thanks for the reply, I was going through some Asus boards and found one with HDMI for £100, I'm guessing it doesn't output the HD audio through the HDMI as it has separate 8ch analogue outputs.

I'll look into your graphics card suggestion, thanks!

Can anyone advice on PSU and the Antec Fusion Remote Black case? It seems to take any old ATX PSU.

It takes a 160mm long PSU no sweat (mind you I don't have an OOD in mine so you might want to check 1st) so find yourself a nice quite modular so save yourself from going crazy with the cables.
