Ok im getting close to building an lga775 setup, just waiting for parts to arrive.
The thing is ive never built one of these before so I did a google looking for some in depth guide to fitting the heatsink

Should I bother to use the intel retail cooler or would it best to go and get a better one? is there a plate that goes underneath the motherboard so the cooler clips into it or does it just rely on the clips alone?... seems a little worrying to think the cooler could just fall off

I shall buy a third party cooler and look for one that uses a back plate. I have a couple thermalright slk's on my socket 478's so a cooler along the same lines as those would be ideal :)
