LGV CPC Test

I have my LGV multiple choice and hazard tests booked.

Can some give some quick advice on the CPC test? This is another test you have to book on the DSA site.

Can you learn from a book/dvd or do you have to go on a course to get information to pass this test.

Don't know if you can help me out, I'm really confused now.

Are new drivers required to do the 35 hours periodic training before they can start driving? Or would we also get 5years to do it.

As theres the Driver CPC initial qualification test you have to sit as well.

Yes ,as far as I'm aware, as a new driver you will have to pass the CPC (35 hours training) first.

As I have been lucky (or daft,depending on how you view it!) enough to have been driving HGV's for around 14years, I have what is known as "acquired rights" or "Grandfather rights" which means I am effectively covered until September 2014.
