Li-an 360 case.

Its purly for looks, they only thing thats gonna annoy me is the Pads are gonna look more crap because of this!

I also am using the 360 for a lot of USB stick DivX playback, so if I could get this down in noise a touch would be great.

And, just cause it can be done, will wait till ocuk get them in to see what prices we have, hopefully some other idoit will have tried it and made enough mistakes to tell us about it!

If you go to the trouble of transferring the hardware into a new case, you might as well flash your drive and set it to a lower read speed in the process. Then it will be quieter.

Either that or wait for game installs with the new dash.

Never knew ya could do that... not really wanting to do anything with it that could mess it up, has been solid so far!

Besides... surely it would still make a shockin amount of noise?

Indeed. Looks a bit ropey from the scores they've given. What are you gonna do?!:)

Not so sure now, it seems their are issues with the USB alignment (which I use a lot of)

The only option would be to start playing with the drives firmware and slow it down (not somthing I like doing), or source another drive, ive seen a few OEM type ones sold individually....but thats just more cost, so I doubt it.

They seem ti hint a lot that other companies will be making their own, so maybe after the big dasboard update and see how games run off the HDD.

Was kinda looking forward to giving this ago TBH

My biggest worry with this case is it seems to actually reduce the functionality of the system. For example, you're fixing the harddrive directly into the case, one of the best features of the 360 was that you could just pick up the harddrive and take it over to a mates house if you needed to, removing that possibility seems... silly.

Well, for you perhaps, im sure there are people that do that, but id dare say theres a heck of a lot more people that have never and will never remove the hard drive.

Its there for people who want to change case, which is a good thing, if you dont want to, thats fine, but people enjoy modding and it has added benefits of doing so.

a memory card is easier to carry about than the hdd i would think
the case looks quite good and the silence at idle for streaming media sounds good to me

You have to flash the firmware of any drive you buy anyway (the drive in your 360 has a unique key in the firmware, you would have to inject this key into a new drive), so you might aswell reduce the speed whilst your at it.

Easy enough?

They priced it stupidly, £39+vat would have been far more reasonable for a case of this size. However I am sure other companies will follow suit.

Your all mental...

Why would you consider putting a console into a PC case, invalidating the warranty in the process, the mind boggles???

It isn't a pc case... it looks better, quieter in some conditions and cools it better.
