Hi all,

I'm in the process of speccing and building a new pc for my living room. I have just purchased a 40 Inch Sony Bravia LCD tv and will be using this as a monitor as well. I will post in the general forum re spec I am going for I just need a bit of advice on the case. I want a mini/midi tower as can't be too big as for the living room and also needs to be quiet and have decent cooling ability.

I was thinking of either the Antec Solo or the PC-7Plus in black. I plan on using the Seasonic M12 Modular 600W silent for the PSU.

I am not worried about the cost so if any other more expensive cases are better feel free to mention.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

PC7+ is the value for money king, they look great, are built brilliant and are capeable of competing with the higher end cases.

Best bang for buck anywhere to do with cases really.

Thanks for the comments. I see OC have just got the pc-7 plusb in are these the mark 2? Also whats the diff with the se compared to this one?

Cheers

Yay, black PC-7 Plus back in stock. Order placed and shipping today. :)

Fingers-crossed I get a Mark II. Most people do based on forum postings. I think the SE might have LED fans.

Now I just need a decent Conroe board to be released and I can get building.

PC7+I = 120mm front, 80mm rear
PC7+II = 120mm front, 120mm rear
PC7SE = 120mm front, 120mm rear, usually overpriced now
PC007 = 120mm blue led front, 120mm blue led rear

OcUK tend to ship the PC7+II, but your guaranteed to get the basic +I version.

So the rummours of the demise of the PC7 were just that then! Thought I may have missed the boat, just hope there still in stock come payday (Friday) my bank account wouldn't agree with me buying one today :(

My PC-7 has arrived and I am happy to report it is a Mark II with 120mm fans at the front and rear. I have also noticed a couple of differences from online pictures/reviews:

:) The solid side panel now has a slotted vent area for the optional 120mm side fan kit.

:) The trim on the top of the front panel is now plain black (rather than that naff looking carbon fibre effect).

:( The front fan filter is a black metal mesh (same as the back) rather than foam - even though the box says "washable filter in front".

All in all a nice case and I'm looking forward to the build once I get the last few parts. Thanks especially to Yewen for the recommendation.

I've had my rig in a Black PC7 for the last month and it is a really nice case, I too was supprised when I found that there was a mesh section around the PCI slot area of the main pannel, but it's a good thing for me as I have an aftermarket cooler on my X1800XT, it can draw/expell air via that aswell as back of case.

It really does look the mutt's and it is a loverly case, I have all 4 drivebays full which can lead to a bit of clutter with cables, but I managed to wiggle them all around and it's tidy with good airflow.

I have now purchased an Akasa Fan Filter which fits a treat between the outer and inner front panels. Only cost a couple of quid - Overclockers should start to stock them.
