Hi there

Had this case for a while now, and was wondering if other people have modified there PSU area to make it run cooler?

All I have done at the moment is put a quieter fan in mine and I was happy with that!.. but now iv started to oc my cpu its running at quite a audible rate now (i assume full speed)

iv been thinking about turning the PSU 90 degrees and putting a grill on the side of the case with maybe some tubing and a small fan to help extract the heat.

I find it dosnt have problems drawing in cool air with the standard fan lay out back>front but more a problem of getting rid of it, then you get the problem of its sitting in its own hot exhaust air. Hence why im thinking of turning it.

Fair enough, but is there enough clearance for the cables?

I would think about modding the front of it, possible using a 114mm hole saw to cut out a circle and then fit on of the mesh fan guards you normally get with the Lian Li cases.

Much like this one that someone has done over at another forum but without the screw holes.

I really like how simple that is with no Chunky Grills, as for the cables...Im not sure yet! I did think about it briefly though. I really dont want to touch the front of it at all, as I love the simplistic look of it. See with this case I wanted to try to get away with all the fan grills and cold cathodes etc etc etc and im really liking how you did those side fans.....starts thinking :)

Edit

Just remembers the grill mesh that was on the rear fan as standard.....will defo use that again after seeing your pics

No I meant in the shed :p

I see what you mean about the wires.....not gonna be possible

So I think thats all on hold then! I really dont want to mess with the front panel.

Naughty Lian Li...poor design there.
