Just put together a new system in this and fear my psu is running hot, i've mounted it upsde down but the hard drive tray is in the way of the fan.

Thinking about cutting it apart or mounting the psu up the correct way.

Anyone else found this?

Mount it the right way up (fan at the bottom usually) and it will be fine. Trust me.

thats what i've done now and seems to be runniong much cooler, loads of people on forums are recommending mounting it upside down but the hard drive bay blocks airflow, the correct way up there is about a 2cm gap under the whole psu.

Not everyone on forums knows what they are talking about. Loads of people look at pictures and make comments.

Just out of interest, did you order this from a UK based etailer?

And can I have some pictures of your rig too? :)

i had to wait for around 3 weeks for a delivery

having some issues at the moment, my psu is getting very warm in the case face up and face down. may remove the hard drive bay and mount the psu upside down.

cpu and hd temps are brilliant tho

overclockers arent the only online store..

Correct. But the OP got it from Overclockers...

So when did you receive your A05?

I thought that the A05b has been out of stock since it was first listed... :(

i think the problem is the exhaust fan on the front, its hidden behind the front faceplate, which is removeable, and vented through the sides. So its created an area of high pressuring making it very difficult for the very slow moving corsair fan to push anything out.

I too wanted something small, but I went for the G50. The PSU is at the back and vents nicely, it just takes up the space a nice big CPU cooler would occupy. So its the stock cooler for now, with thoughts of water cooling for the future.

PK!

i have replaced the two case fans and the tuniq fan with yate loons and cpu temp under load had dropped from 53deg max to 48max.

I have also now made a partition using a piece of plastic at the front of the case

this is seperating the psu from the fan above it, psu temperatures have improved but its still warmer than when run outside of the case

this case is parp,

on one hand i have very low cpu load temps due to the fan blowing directly onto it.

BUT, and its a very big BUT, the front panel is causing my PSU to get too hot. running with the front panel off its not even warm but with the front panel on it gets hot!

Im going to leave my "partition" in there and add a volted down 80mm fan to the bottom section, I may at first just cut the hole and leave a fan out - just run with a grill.
