Lian Li A71 Case

I just watched a video review of the case and the guy mentions that the main hard drive cage can be rotated by 180 degrees, which requires removing a lot of screws.

I was wondering... why is it necessary to do this? Can the hard drives only go in one way (with the connectors facing the left side) or can it be done both ways with the stock orientation of the cage?

he means it can face the mother board or the door opening (why he didnt put 90 deg though?)

No, they'll go in forwards or reversed.

Depends on preference. Either way (and as was said by simonnance) there's simply tons of space.

I recently watercooled mine and removed the second set of 120mm fans behind the HDD tray. This freed up acres of space. In fact, i also recently removed the aliminium bar spanning the space between the 5.25" bays and the upper PSU mount cage:

My new case just arrived and I am trying to put the spare hard disk cage from the top to the bottom and it does not fit right to the back as shown in the manual.

Has anyone managed to sort this out?

Right, so I have finished the transplant and I will post up pictures once all the drive bezels etc arrive :)

Have a few comments on this case:
- i had to remove the spare cage completely because when at the bottom, it blocked 3 SATA ports and a USB header :(
- the door seems to scrape the main case as it opens the close :(

Anyone else encountered these problems before?

Does the spare hd cage that goes in the top or bottom use the anti vibration mount system?

yes it does:confused:, hdds that go in it use the anti vibration grommets. He does mean this one right?

Yeah thats the one, it swaps places with the psu. I have been saying for a couple of months I am going to get one of these as my PC7 is getting too cramped to work on now.

Going to order one Mon with lian li wheels and a EX33 bay cooler.

Thanks.

Received by A71B today. Looks lovely, and I'll get up some pictures tomorrow most likely.

Took me ages trying to work out how the front panel comes off!

Lol PinkFloyd! I bet you were kicking yourself when you realised :p

Is there any way of putting the back HDD rack fan at the bottom, without the rack? The rack blocks part of my motherboard and I could not put it at the bottom :(
