Lian-Li Case, extra fan?

Ive just got a few parts for my new pc build, psu, dvd drive, case, fans and hard drives.

Ive got this case by the way:

Wow is it nice

Anyway i bought an extra 80mm case fan

And not sure what way it goes lol?

Since it's for the blowhole at the top of the case you'll want it as an exhaust.

Even if there's no arrow you can always just ire it up for a second or two to see which way the fan spins.

If its at the top of the case, surely you want the air pushed out....so up? OOPs sorry how did i miss that msg above...

ah, you didn't specify,
there is no top fan on the Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS,

so yep, fan blows up

yea you want the top 80mm fan to blow out so it removes
the rising hot air.

OPk thanks, one more thing ive got the corsaire 620 psu lol i cant seem to connect the zalman fan to any of the clips?

And is their anyway i can test the PSU and fans without installing a motherboard?

Short the green and black wires in the middle of the ATX main power cable. Just use something like a paperclip to short them.

I don't use that black one. I use the black one next to the green one. Shouldn't matter like, as they should both be be earth AFAIK.

Some pliers, wire strippers and a spare molex plug and you can.

does it have a small 3-pin connector ?

if so
look for the matching "case fan" header on your motherboard...

Arn't you trying to test it without the motherboard though stickroad? If not, then as abouve, just plug it into a 3 pin fan header on the motherboard.

Oh yeah i haven't got my new motherboard yet, it hought it would connect to a lead from the psu but it connects to the motherboard lol my mistake.

Also the motherboard im getting has the 24pin connector on it but my psu Corsair 620 it does have the 24pin but 4 pins ae like detached will this make a diffrence?

Also their seems to be a pin missing on the main power connector (PSU)

Thats all fine. You may need to clip the 4pin connector to the other 20 pins to plug it in, but it should be fairly easy and straight forward.
