Have got a case that I think is very similar to a PC7 with 2 80mm fans in the front, an 80mm fan in the top and an 80mm fan at the rear.

Problem is that the heat from my quad sort of builds up at the rear of the case and the 80mm fan doesn't look like it's up to the job. When priming my temps get to around 73 but if I take the side off then they drop by a massive 10 degrees.

So am wondering if anybodies done a mod to the rear fan, had a quick gander and it looks like a 92mm fan would just about fit but am unsure, I could also cut out the rear grill stamped into the case which does look like it's quite restrictive, what are peoples thoughts on this?

The temps dropping that much when you take the side of your case off could point to bad cable management, whats yours like?

All the cables are either tucked away or cable tied out of the way. One thing that's just occurred to me is that I have the rear and top fan running through a fan temp controlled bit of circuitry I took out of an old PSU. It could be that the sensor on this circuitry is never getting hot enough to actually start ramping the fan speed up. Not too sure how I test this out but I might try re-positioning this circuit to see if it improves things.

the best test for that would be to remove the temp sensor and run the fans normally while you prime test and note the temps of the CPU if it does drop you know where the problem lies.
