Lian Li Cases with see through side panels?

what sort of case would you recomend i want a good case that can be made to look good coz i like the chalange of keeping it tidy inside what you think i should go for ? also wonna keep it kinda quite coz it sounds like a bloody helicopter at the side of me lol

Well the akasa eclipse can have a window, has excellent cooling and it is easy to make look tidy. Other than the front which looks awful it is a brilliant case. How much you looking to spend?

I got the Lian-Li PC-61 Black Aluminium Midi-Tower Case (No PSU) (CA-045-LL) on Thursday and am well pleased with it. People aren't lying when they talk about the build quality of these cases.

You can pick up a brand new side window for it for ~£15 if you look around.

hmmm i dunno i got a fare bit of money saved n selling old pc for £500 pound so i dunno probs up to about £80 - £90 i think thats fairly resonable for a case dont you ?

Good budget for a good case, either the eclipse or what about this?

Lian-Li PC-60 PLUS Silver Aluminium Midi-Tower Case (No PSU) (CA-041-LL)

... it's going a tad over £80... not much experience with the Lian-Li cases but have heard good reviews regarding the brand name. Best check out some in-depth reviews. ;)

Unfortunately I don't... but you can pair it up with a set of AKASA Ambers if you're worried. :)

what are they like they quite ? reliable i got some akasa blue led fans noisey as hell :(

Not silent but from facts, it operates at 18dBA? Which is pretty quiet, you can really only go silent if you decide to route to non-air cooling. :) My graphics card fan itself drowns all the noise at probably 200dBA and that's not exagerrating. ;)

The less fans you have in your system, the quieter it will be with the sacrifice of low airflow and perhaps higher temperatures.

one other thing that is worrying me is that i just saw this on the spec for the case

- M/B type: ATX & pentium 4 (max size: 12"x9.6")

is an amd board classed as ATX  and if not does this mean i will have to make new holes in case to acompany the mobo ?

No, you won't need to, I'm sure of it. That's a standard midi-tower which fits standard ATX motherboards.

That's pretty loud.

From the Health and Safety Executive Website;

normal conversation 50-60 dB(A)
a loud radio 65-75 dB(A)
a busy street 78-85 dB(A)
a heavy lorry about 7 metres away 95-100 dB(A)
a pighouse at feeding time 110 dB(A)
a chain saw 115-120 dB(A)
a jet aircraft taking off 25 metres away 140 dB(A).

So maybe 200dBA is a small exageration? :D Or are you expecting an ASBO?

Sound levels above 85 dB are considered harmful, while 120 dB is unsafe and 150 dB causes physical damage to the human body. Windows break at about 163 dB. Jet airplanes cause A-weighted levels of about 133 dB at 33 m, or 100 dB at 170 m. Eardrums rupture at 190 dB to 198 dB. Shock waves and sonic booms cause levels of about 200 dB at 330 m. Sound levels of around 200 dB can cause death to humans :D and are generated near bomb explosions (e.g., 23 kg of TNT detonated 3 m away). The space shuttle generates levels of around 215 dB (or an A-weighted level of about 175 dB at a distance of 17 m). Even louder are nuclear bombs, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes and volcanoes, all capable of exceeding 240 dB.

:D ROFLMAO

I got the Lian Li PC-7+ it has 120mm fans, They seem ok, they push a fair amount of air @12v but there by no means silent, the akasa ambers win hands down against them, they pushed more air and were a lot quieter. Ive got my akasa ambers running at 5v and they are very quiet but the sound is drowned out by this Akasa evo33 cpu cooler ive just installed, its noisier than the stock AMD cooler (delta).
