Was just curious as to why the V2000 silver and the V2000 plus black are stocked, but not the V2000 black or the V2000 plus silver. The pictures and description are also the same - only difference is the price. Took me a while to realise - initially I thought the price difference was due to the colour. Turns out it's due to the number of case fans. Methinks there's the potential for someone to buy the wrong case :D

Yep its very confusing and I actually rang OCUK up and there answer was that they can't get hold of the Silver or it there wasn't enough demand or something stupid. Basically they told me in no uncertain terms that they arn't getting a Silver Lian Li V2000+ in, which really irritates me as that is the exact case I want. I really can't understand why they can get a black one but not a silver one   .

Yeah, it did take me a wee while to work out why there was a difference in price between the black and the silver. Thankfully I wanted the black plus so no big deal.

The extra blower is nice but the ability to remove the lower hard disk rails is the real benefit of the plus. With the standard case you have to use the mounting rails and they're pretty rattly (sp?) with a few drives in them. I ended up removing the partitions, taking the plastic rails off and then suspending the drives with shock cord, took a couple of hours to do but certainly well worth it - no noise transmission to the case at all.

Perhaps something for the powers that be to take on board - clearer differentiation between the two, or better still, stock both colours in both models...

I was a bit worried about black cases chipping - a bit of over zealous hoovering and disaster strikes. Also showing up dirt and marks. There's also something about the rawness of metal that is quite aesthetic. It is a bit worrying on the drive rattling. I thought I had my spec sorted - just wait for the Duo in August. Not so sure about the case now. Background noises annoy me. I have tinnitus as it is - don't need additional weird noises :D I'll also be sleeping near the PC once built - not because of an unhealthy relationship with it, but because of space limitations. Hmmm.

Remember he is talking about a mod.

You can always drill out the rivets on the non plus and do it still.

Why would a v1000+ not do, you can fit a lot into one? :)

I like the space of the V2000 - plenty of room for a newbie builder to work in. I was curious as to why the black plus is stocked but not the silver. Same for other models too, now that I look. Just struck me as odd - hence this thread :)

I won't be going near the case with a drill - I know my limitations :D Will have to see. If it rattles, I'll have to sort it. Can think of a few ways. All part of the learning process I guess :)

Takes seconds to sort in the v1000+.

Just a note, the v1000+ is easier to build in than the v2000+, you have more play in cables as the main plus.

If you don't need the HDD space, and will be running 3 hard drives + modular, or 6 hard drives + non modular PSU then just get the v1000+ as it is cheaper and easier to cope with.

If you add me to msn I would gladly talk through anything troubling you about the cases. :) (Just started playing WOW so excuse me if I take a few mins to reply!)

I have it my head that it might be possible to coat the rails with clear silicon sealant as a damper. It'll easy peel off. I do have daft ideas though :D

It'd be the plain v2000, not the plus becase the plus is only available in black and I prefer the silver, but yeah - I've seen pictures of stretched cables due to the hole location. Need more holes in the divider, really. I figured it would be a bridge I'd cross if necessary...

Modular PSU and I'll probably only ever have a couple of drives in it. The v1000+ is barely higher than my current PC, which is very cramped inside. Had to take the flue off the CPU to fit a CD-RW - still was a nightmare to fit. Someone one day will design a connector better than a molex. You pull it - nothing. Pull a bit harder - nothing. Pull really hard and whoosh - smash your knuckles into something metal and often sharp. Why easier to cope with when it's smaller? There's a joke somewhere in that last sentence but we won't go there :D

Noted - thanks :) I was sorted on the case :D

v1000+ has the same room to work with as a v2000+ really, and much easier to work with than a v2000 that is for sure.

Not all about size, many smallish cases are dreams to work with, the v1000+ being one of them.

I see. Will adjust the specification then :)
