Lian Li Edge compatibility

Good Afternoon Folks,

Looking for a bit of advice.

with it now coming towards Christmas and after suggesting to my partner that perhaps a new PC case is what I'd like the big guy to bring, I am now being hounded with what case I want.

I am looking at the Lian Li O11 Vision line, the compact in particular but I have also noted that the Lian Li edge looks to be a PSU that would make cable management in that particular style of case a breeze.

I am however unsure if this would fit, does anybody have any better ideas? I tried to contact Lian Li direct to ask the question but the forum asks for purchase receipts, serial numbers etc which I have none of as I haven't purchased anything yet.

any advice would be appreciated, even PSU's that would fit the case that is ideally 1000w and above. Thank you in advance

I'd have a look at Antec's C5, because it includes 7x ARGB fans.

In regards to the 011 Vision, the max length on Lian Li's website is huge (232mm), so in theory I think it would work.

The AMP GH doesn't have any reviews that I can find, but the price is decent for a platinum rated PSU. It is believed to be built by Helly who Seasonic use for their lower-end PSUs. The warranty is 8 year.

The Antec HCG Pro is based on Seasonic's Vertex, but has a 2 year shorter warranty (10 instead of 12).

this is where the vision info starts to differ, with the compact it says 220mm on some places and 232 on others so it's where I'm starting to confuse myself. I wouldn't mind going to the standard vision but the compact with the mesh panel up top is what catches my eye (plans for a push pull rad set-up)

Corsair have a PSU with side mounted cables that has weird compatibility and they have a case checker on their website (it includes third party, not just Corsair), Lian Li really should do the same thing if they want people to buy it

and yeah very true, a support team for questions such as this isn't handy if you have to buy the potentially incompatible products before they'll assist.

If you are getting a new case why are you needing a new PSU? Those cases are huge and pretty much any psu should be a doddle in there.

the new PSU is more for the future plans, I intend to upgrade the card and put a 360mm AIO in. my 650w might be at/beyond it's limit. it's more that the PSU placement protrudes ever so slightly out the back of the case (at least on the compact) so ensuring something will fit in there nicely.

Depends what card you buy I guess...but if you got for example a 4070 Super, that card will probably draw the same if not less power than your 2070. (If your sig is your current PC)

220mm clearance for a PSU is HUGE and i'd hedge a bet that your next psu will be no way near that if you're running a 650w unit, there probably aren't many psus bigger than 220.

An AIO isn't going to be chugging watts either

yeah that's my thoughts, just Lian Li's site is a tad confusing in regards to what will work.
the plan is a 4070ti super or a 4080 Super, the PSU is more of the Mindset - if I get one with a big warranty I may as well go for more wattage so it's one less thing to have to buy when I jump to AM5 or hopefully see through to AM6.
