Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS vs Akasa Eclipse 62

Lian Li looks better but the Eclipse has a lot more features and is bigger and the brushing on the sides and top are of a higher quality. The PC-7 is a bargain at the price but i much prefer my eclipse.

Here is a pic of my 2 cases side by side.

IMO the interior looks far better on the eclipse and is a fair bit bigger. The holes in the removable mobo tray are excellent for routing wires. All the panels are removable including the top which really comes in handy for cable management.

At the risk of getting suspended: this has been asked over and over again. There is a search feature. The cases gallery thread is FULL of pictures of people's PC-7's and Eclipse's. IF you have a query regarding some specific feature of the cases that is not covered anywhere else in this forum, then I'll be very pleased to answer it, but quite frankly someone should just write a sticky that says;

PC-7+ - Cheap, very well made, decent cooling, excellent resale value

Eclipse 62 - Quite expensive, well made, superb cooling, massive amounts of room and really easy to work in.

Job done....

Hmmm i dont think Yewen will be suspending you he will probably be along any time soon to agree with you. But if no one asked questions then CC would be pretty dead, its not busy at the best of times.

Won't get sussed for that, I know the feeling the same three threads pop up everyday and I am usually happy to answer them, although unless it is a specialist answer that is required I just pop up search the forums.

No harm in telling people to search, I am thinking about compiling a new cases to consider for budget section for the sticky, there was one for 4 months that I kept updated that nobody used, so I gave up on it!

I see your point with the repetition of threads, same with GH and £600 conroe rig specs. If anyone is interested in helping me write a piece to be made into a updateable sticky drop me a email to [email protected].

I wont do it by myself or it will be highly biased towards my views and wont go much further than the Lian Li range!

Only in the early ones - the newest ones have only 1 hole (sorry for the carppy photo);
I wonder why they have taken the holes away :confused: , they are great for hiding the wires from the gfx card etc around the back.

Cost probably, everyone will do anything to keep the profits up, only company that didnt was the ATCs division of Coolermaster, and look where that got them!

its a removable hard drive holder so you can fit another 2 hard drives in! using that, and with nothing in the 3.5" externals, you can have upto 8 hard drives in it. pretty useful if thats what your after. seeing as you can now get 750gb seagate drives (i think they make them) that could be a lot of storage space!

however if you've got a mahoosive heatsink then chances are its going to be right in the way. i removed mine and screwed it to a bit on my desk as a handy pen holder! :)

the caddy for the lower front 4 hard drive mounts sit right behind mounting for a 120mm fan which is sweeeet for keeping them nice and cool

Yep mine wont fit in as i have a Akasa Evo33 cpu cooler which is pretty big. I dont need it anyway as i use external hdd's for storage. You could probably get 11 in there if you used the 5.25” bays assuming you only have one optical drive.
