Lian-Li PC-7 Plus

you only need 2x120mm fans for good airflow in a good case layout
and the pc7 does a great job for the money you pay

all the 80mm top fan does it remove the hot air rising up the case.

it depends on how you think its better

in added extra hdds or roms and more space yes.
as for the airflow between them both
i would say the Thermaltake might push out more air. but with double the
price on it you would expect that. ive also found cases with more holes for
open airflow give out more noise

and for me i like my systems i own to be quiet as i can make them.

the Thermaltakes 25cm fan on side would help to remove gfx hotair so
that would be good thing to have. but now days gfx cards have a closed
fan that removes air from the card out to the back

In the end its all down to what you want out of a case and what your
willing to pay.

there are loads of options you have to think about befor going out
and buy a good case. but for most ppl they just go out n buy 1
with out thinking. also ppl go for looks and not what the case can
or cant do.

The LL PC7 is a great case, small stylish good cooling and
for the price nothing beats it

Three fans!

Its extravagant!

I am running one fan in the S80b I have and the temperatures I have are what you would call very good.

The PC7+ is bar the Eclipse probably the best cooling mainstream case, will absolutely decimate anything with more than two fans in a db : cooling comparison; the cooling is just right.

Anything you put in that case with just the 2x 120mm fans it will cool, if anything the 80mm fan should not be used due to it adding extra noise with a negative impact on the actual flow of air in the case to the PSU. :)

If you have an overheating system in the PC7+, I can say with 100% certainty that it is not the case. 2400xp thoroughbred in one with a passive CPU cooler and 5v fans tells me that, still got issues with the graphics being passive at the same time but its certainly interesting to know just how well this case can cool.

It is better at cooling than any other case in Lian Li's range at the moment on air bar maybe the G50 depending on your system.

It certainly is a match for any of Thermaltakes current offerings, the best of which cooling wise I would say is the Soprano which is a good comparison with the PC7+.

More fans does not mean better cooling, most likely the opposite of that with most comparisons. (Exception being an original stacker with certain setups with lots of hard drives.)

Case temp is around 30. :)

The CPU heat is dumped outside the case by use of a reserator 1+ which just leaves the graphics heat. :)

It has taken me nigh on 6 months to get it silent with decent temperatures, it is a tricky beast for what it is and certainly not worth all of its price tag unless you are a case nut. Nothing better if you are one though.

If your thinking of getting a S80 you are better off looking at one of the other more 'standard' cases by Lian Li like the cases based on the V series' chassis layout.
