Hi Guys, first time poster long time reader.

After many years I decided to build a new system and buy a new case, Lian Li PC-7HA (A is silver).

I have a question regarding the operation of the Power Switch button. When the button is pressed on this case, it does not make a click noise (the reset button does make a click sound when pressed)

On my previous Lian Li case PC-7 Plus II, when the power button is pressed (much like the reset button), it makes a click sound.

I was wondering if owners of newer Lian Li cases could tell me whether this is normal ie has the operation of the power switch been changed resulting in no clicking noise.

I built my current system using a cheap Corsair case and wanted to move everything over but am concerned about this since as you all know moving from one case to another is a lengthy process and I don't want to discover that the Power Switch on the PC-7HA case is malfunctioning / broken.

Many thanks for any info provided

Cheers

Many thanks for your reply.

The power and reset switches are situated on the top panel towards the front of the case.

I decided to take the case apart including power and reset switches and it looks like the screws holding the top panel in place have been badly machined and are out of place at the front.

When I removed the 4 screws and let the top panel settle down, the power button worked as expected ie it made the clicking noise (same as the reset switch).

Interestingly, I did send an email to Lian Li customer support a few days ago queering this matter to which they just replied and within which they advised me that the power switch mechanism had been changed and that it no longer made the clicking noise :p

I bought this case because I wanted a minimalist looking silver Midi case (and not a black one) with 3x 5 1/4" bays (yes I still use those for optical drives and fan controller) and this is the only case I could find to fit the bill with reasonable cooling.

I read many users reviews on the usual sites prior to buying this case and having seen this case in the flesh, I have to agree with most of them that whereas Lian Li used to make really nice pc cases, these latest examples are cheap ie thin aluminum, poorly machined (holes out of line), poor customer support.

Cheers
