Lian Li PC-9 *New*

Hot swappable Sata is not a good idea imo, it means you cant really bungee mod for silence as they have to be plugged in and reverbing on the chassis.

Hello there :)

I realy like the look of this, i got the PC7+3 and i am looking for something a little bit bigger and this fits the bill ;), i would have to get a karma bay for a bit of extra intake, a nice fan controller and i be good to go.

Looks like you get a 4850, 4870 in without having to remove the bottom drive bays i think

i agree entirely, not only that but it's a redundant feature for me....and something which can develop a fault and short out your drives.

man if i wanted the hassle of losing hard drives to a hot swap drive bay failure i'd probably blow 70-80 quid on a 5 bay IcyDock :)

Had no idea there was issues with hot swappable :(

Seemed a good idea anyhow.

Only thing about a bungee mod is I doubt it will effectivly silence the seek/access and writing to hdd noise or would it?, am considering those new Scythe Himuro Aluminium Hard Drive Coolers for 20 quid or the japanese Gup enclosures for a complete silence factor but heat is always a concern :(

I think I still prefer my PC-7 if I'm honest. The only thing I'm beginning to not like about the case is that it's beginning to feel a little on the small side, so I would probably like to upgrade to something bigger.

The size of this case is much better, and I like the added flexibility of the hard-drive cage. I'm going to go against the grain and say that the hot-swappable is an excellent addition. The in-built fan controller is a good idea, although I'd imagine most people would prefer their own controllers.

They've included more options for cable management, but why have they not included a motherboard tray? This is something I would definitely look for in any new case.

Another triumph in 'thermal solution' by Lian-Li

Honestly, I thought they were going back to basics. I don't think Lian li has made a case which has impressed me yet. they look nice, brilliantly finished but to be frank they suck unless you modify them greatly! with the exception of the PC-P80 and the A70

Their whole cooing methodology seems to be based on drawing a shape in photoshop and filling it with a red to blue gradient ha ha.

looks nice, that's about it though.
