Hi,

Thinking about down-sizing to something like the Lian-Li PC-a04 case, probably throw in a i7 2600K .

I know cooling clearance is a problem, from the sound of it you have around 150mm to play with and water is not an option.

So far these look like fits

- Noctua NH-U9B SE2 (have seen this mounted blowing up, not sure if it fits blowing air out of the back.)

- Noctua NH-C12P - low form factor (114 mm) but wide

- Zalman CNPS10X with own fan

Any suggestions/ comments ?

Thanks
Simon

The A04 is 190mm wide, just slightly narrower than a mid tower. There's extra space for cable management at the back, but I've seen a Titan Fenrir and a Megahalem (just fits by about 1mm) in this case, so lots of large coolers should be fine.

If you want a low profile heatsink the Noctua is excellent.
