As per the topic I want to build a new HTPC around the Lian Li PC-C50B case. I'll be upgrading from a Philips LX3000 which is a sleek looking mini-pc using laptop parts but unfortunately cannot cope with 1080p video.
I was thinking of the following spec:
I will be using the HTPC to stream 1080p video from my NAS over homeplug networking but recording TV on a local hard disk. For the media player I would like to use XBMC (currently using Windows Media Centre as it works with CoreAVC pretty well).
I would appreciate specific recommendations of motherboard, cpu (if different to above), ram, ssd and freesat tuner if you've experience in that dept.
A couple questions also...
Any help is appreciated....

I was thinking of the following spec:
- Lian Li PC-C50B case
- Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge)
- Noctua NH-C12P SE14 CPU Cooler
- H67 motherboard
- 4GB RAM
- SSD for OS
- BlackGold BGT3620 Dual Freeview/Freeview HD Tuner Card
- Another dual-tuner card for Freesat HD

A couple questions also...
- Will the on-cpu HD 3000 graphics be sufficient to output high bitrate 1080p 3D movies?
- How should sound be handled and will I be able to play the best formats?
Any help is appreciated....
