Hello

I bought a Lian Li PC-Q03 case from Overclockers at Xmas for my wife new mini PC Build Here are the specs

Asus P8H61-I
(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-482-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2071)
Intel Pentium G840
(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-386-IN)
4gb DDR3 1333Mhz
SilverStone 500W psu (Non modular )
Win7 x64

I'm looking at adding a low profile graphics card to the system but the case has a max length of graphics card it can take 180mm. HD 6670 Is probably what I'm thinking, mainly so I can play some eve-online in the living room.
So far I have seen three cards (listed below) that I think will fit but i'm not 100%. Also I'm not so sure on the implications of heat dispensation in the the case

HD-667X-CNF2 XFX Radeon HD 6670 2GB DDR3

HD-667X-CLF3 XFX Radeon HD 6670 2GB DDR3

VTX3D HD6670 2GB DDR3 (V2)

Any Advice greatly appeciated.

Cheers K

I have a build in that case.

Where's the hard drive mounted? Is it a 2.5" or SSD?

For the use you've described with one of the cards listed I wouldn't think ventilation will be too much a problem. The PSU will help get rid of most heat.

If you mount the hard drive up top near the optical drive and remove the little HDD tray thing at the bottom it will give you more ventiation space. Cooler air can then be drawn in through the holes that are on the bottom of the case.

Thanks for your reply
I have a 2.5 HHD & SSD on the bottom tray (there does seen to be enough room for a card and space for air flow there but its tight ).
I was to move both the HDD and the SSD - I cannot see how you would fix these to the top of the case ? Any pics?

Cheers

You haven't mentioned an optical drive so see below (circled red). You can mount one on the underside of the optical tray and one in the tray.

If you do have a ODD then I would simply velcro (or use double sided tape) the SSD to the inside front of the case.

Mr.Yellow Thanks for the pics

I have a ODD mounted at the top and 1 250GB HDD 2.5" and a 60GB SSD mounted to the bottom tray.

I think will probably try and move the SSD to the underside of the OOD tray.
The SSD Is currently in a position that would be directly below cooler fan of the graphics card.

Would this be okay ? It would mean that the hard drive would remain in position on the bottom tray but the space created by moving the SSD to above the ood tray should create space for air flow.

Also I did some researching off lp graphics card and I found this 7750 which will fit

Will this or the other cards cause to much heat ?
I only plan to play eve-online with this build other than that it would be for normal PC tasks and video streaming?

Thanks again

If it was my setup I'd have no drives on the bottom, but that's just my preference.

I don't know what the demands of Eve-Online are but from a quick Google I can see plenty of people using something like a GT620, which is what is in mine, on medium settings at around 720p.

The temps are not going to be amazing but having said that I don't think there is any danger what so ever of overheating. I also have the same CPU as you in that case and I've never had any problems with L4D2, I've never even monitored the temps.

Cheers Mr. Yellow
Thats me decided then.
I can get the vtx 3d 7750 LP from maplins for £60 With first time subscriber vouchers!
