Lian-Li PC-Q11b Build (Problem Help Needed!!)

Well after much consideration I've bought and have here a lovely Lian-Li PC-Q11b, now I just need the bits to go with it lol

Reckon I've settled on the i5 2500 processor, but only Zotac m-itx mobo in stock at ocuk :-( would have went for the Asus if in stock.

So recommendations for please:-

Mobo
Memory (quite cheap at the moment so say 8gb worth)
60gb ssd
Silent psu
Big quiet CPU fan that will fit
Blu ray player
Passive cooled gfx card with hdmi out
Will also be purchasing a 1tb WD HDD for storage and rounded Sata cables

Could also replace the stock 140mm fan with silent one when I'm at it

Budget isn't a major issue but cheaper the better. Would rather have quality for an extra few £s than cheaper if u know what I mean

Thanks for all any any help

Mostly used for film, music, light photoshop work and light gaming ( mostly live for speed)

Many thanks, will the cooler fit ok, been reading reports of some coolers fouling one of the dimm slots

Was also looking at the asus p8h67-i deluxe mobo as well.

Also read a few posts saying 60gb ssd weren't very fast and to go for 120gb ones instead??

Right ordered these:-

Asus P8H67-I deluxe mobo
Seasonic X series PSU
i5 2500 3.3
Crucial M4 64gb SSD
Corsair 8gb XMS DDR3
LiteOn iHBS-112 blu ray rw
Thermalright axp140
WD Black 1tb HDD
Win 7 64 home premium retail
Rounded Sata cables

These all look ok???

Only thing left is gfx card which I have 1 q. Will the passive cooled 6670's fit? Looking to go for minimum fan noise

Ah bugger, ordered mobo from elsewhere but most of other stuff is in my 'basket' from here ready to order.

There no 2x4gb sodimm sets available from oc, but can I buy 2 sperare 1x 4gb sticks and put them in??? Failing that 2x2 will have to do.

Well spotted tho and thanks lol

Perfect, will order the rest today.

Last part is gfx card, there's a couple of passive cooled 6670s on ocuk but the heatsinks are either slightly longer or higher, you think there would be any trouble with them fitting compared slightly shorter fan based cards?

Everything now ordered and PSU, CPU cooler and Win 7 arrived already.

Many thanks to 'Gropingmantis' for all the help and info, much appreciated.

Might stick a build log up when everything arrives.

Cheers again

Everything else arrived today so started building after work.

CPU cooler was a PITA to fit but managed in the end, fitted the fan on top, fitted mobo to sidepanel, then slid the case over everything, perfect.

Then I noticed a major problem. The cooler sits ok for space but with the fan and wire holding brackets in place it sits about an inch, inch and a half too high for the PSU to fit in :-( disaster :-(

So anyone know which cooler and fan combo (pref 140mm) will fit?

Oh and btw what's with those POS USB 3.0 cables running through the case??? Real easy to hide them lol

What case do you have m8??

Bearing in mind that this is my first SFF build, I've always built my own midi pc's before there's a couple of problems I foresee.

There's so little room between the edge of the CPU cooler and the front fan where main 24 pin cable is sandwiched inbetween cause that's where the connector is located that ive had to remove the wire grille on front of the fan. There just too little space for it to be there. The wires come out the PSU at the same spot so something is gonna end up rubbing somewhere. They are very close at the moment and the PSU is still no secured properly yet.

And that's before I've run Sata cables to an ssd, HDD and bluray plus power cables.

That aside it posts ok and is sitting at the new CPU installed screen happily.

Only way round the lack of space between CPU cooler, 24 pin cable and front fan is a smaller CPU cooler so I can stick the wire grille back on.

Wish I could post pics but no Internet just now just iPhone.

Cheers

Baptism of fire here lol, I knew things would be tight but bloody hell :-)

The only way to bend the 24 pin wires would be under the heatsink, the other way there's no room and would foul the front fan. Sata cables shouldn't be too much of a problem routing round the front and under the fan. USB 3.0 cables are a PITA!

GPU was trial fitted and fits just (realising this is normal now) lol. Lots of cable ties at the ready, all drives are in already. Got the feeling before I start that I'm gonna cable tie everything up then realise I've forgotten something then have to redo again, lots of forethought needed defo.

Cheers again

Tried again last night and it looks surprisingly tidy lol. Ordered longer Sata cables which should arrive today and I'm going to route them under the motherboard. Been taking a few pics as I go so hopefully have a build log up once I get it finished
