Lian Li PC-V2120 - Thoughts?

What's the room around the back of the mobo tray like. Only pics I have seen show the pci-e, atx, and eps cables running up through the main chamber and not behind the tray. Also, are the 3 tops fan positions blanked out with aluminium plates. I'm guessing you will need to invest in a grille then if you plan to stick fans up there. It also looks like the HD's all mount facing outwards. More practical but kind of ugly.

So anyone ?

I seriously like the look of this case. Just wondering if cable management is awful as the build Lian Li has at Compudex looked very messy

I could have sworn this is the same case Ive had for the past 20 months or so, so not sure about this being "new". There is plenty of room behind the mobo tray to hide cables. When I say plenty, its a squeeze to get the side panel on because of the padding foam, but not too shabby on the cable management front. I am using modular cables from a Corsair PSU and these seem to be quite thick and I have no problem running these around the back of the mobo tray. There is so much room inside the case you could do pretty much what you liked. I managed to snap the key inside the lock for the front panel on the 1st day I had the case, but that is the only issue I have had with build quality, everything else is top notch as it always is with Lian Li.

lian li V series cases tend to have a very similar outside each generation, but different layouts inside, these changes are usually to accompany changes in pc design and technology

The older version which isn't going to be millions miles away had more than enough room for all my mess, so I imagine its going to be the same if not better, heres a pic of my older case, You'll see the Similarities
it was my 1st ever build so go easy

Still waiting for a review of this case, and the V1020B. Thought price wise, I'm much more tempted by the latter. Does anyone with experience with Lian Li cases know if the wheels would be easily removable?

The castors don't come installed by default. You screw them on.

My friend has the 2120X and am tempted by it. Cable management is better then other Lian Li's. You can insert the drives backwards like on the HAF series. And there is enough room behind the mobo tray for everything. The only problem area will be reaching the 12v EPS even with an extension cable.

I have had my x for 6 weeks now great bit of kit, my psu is fine with it

Cool.

What psu do you have ?

I have the AX1200 and the eps cable is short so you need an extension. If I get an X, I'd like to run that cable behind the mobo tray. My friend tried it, and he had to use 2 extensions :)

In case someone wants to know; I contacted Lian Li about a possible windowed sidepanel for the V2120, but they said they won't be producing any, cause the market for these kind of towers is minimal. Sigh.

Very disappointed with this decision. I guess I will have to create my own then.

To anyone who has this case, what's it like for gpu cooling.

The reason I ask it because it's a very deep case like the CM 840 which due it's sheer depth meant that the gpu cooling was not as good as say the HAF series. You have to add the optiional 120mm fan to the back of the HD cage to direct some airflow towards the gpu's. I see this fan is already in place on the 2120. I'm just wondering how the cooling is compared to a HAF-F, Raven RV02 etc..

Dont have any experience with haf or raven , heard good things about them. I have my sr-2 watercooled in the lian li v2120 so temps are not a problem, with 2 evga hydro's 2.
