hello all

i have the wanderful pci 7 plus case, and i can hear a slight humming so the fans will be replaced but i think is coming from the hhds cage.

is there anyway i can quietn this humming down.

there are 2 screws that screw the cage to the case is there anything i can do there to quieten it.

any pics or suggestions would be great.

many thanks

I have similar resonance problems, but I have removed the hard drive rack. Most of the buzzing or humming in the pc-7 comes from the front panel and blanking covers, use blutack in the joins to reduce this.

Side panels too, I've used Asaka Paxmate to stop the panels from vibrating, but putty will work too.

front panel u mean where the front fan sits, blanking covers where do u mean for that? what did u do to slience this.

in the joins u mean at the bottom where the door goes or??

akasa paxmate you mean this

Unplug the fans and see how mucg noise they actually make first.

yeb will do i bought the sharkoons silent eagle 1000 anyway for that, it should help things.

Or maybe just the hard drive? with the side off the case hold the hard drive cage and see if that makes a difference, should stop any resonation.

will do, but if its the cage what the soloution for that

You really need to see for definate where the noise is coming from first, but blue tack it a sugestion, place it anywhere that you have gaps.

will do that as well

Please PLEASE don't use pax mate on your case!

is there anything wrong with it

The drive blanks - the bits to fill the whole where your optical drives would go, if not fitted securely can cause noise, the suggestion is to put a bit of blue tack between the drive blanks

they are very secure on lian li checked em as well as the flopppy as well.

will do that as well, i think the noise is mainly from the fans and the cage tbh

hi Harib0

i have stopped all the fans in the case and that made a difference but the hummig was still there.

i couldnt take out the cage yet as it ws screwed in and the hdds are covering em vut i will soon, what i found that when i did hold the cage i felt a lot of resognation .

i think the humming is mostly emiiting from there, so any idea how to solve this, anything i can buy or do my self please let me know.

other suggestions from everyone else are welcome :)

thanks
