Hey all, Since Lian Li have stopped production of the 6077 (see below) I am looking for a replacement. Prefereably aluminum with a mimimum of 7 bays accessed externally as in the pic. Needs to be about the same height too coming in at no more than 460mm as they sit on a rack :)

So who can help me out then :p

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming case i think is the right size maybe 1cm higher

yeah had a look at this...unfortunately its a tad too high due to there being 9 bays and that tack stuck on top :p :( Cheers anyway

oh the Lian-Li PC-101 Aluminum Mid Tower is 46cm high, but only has 5x5.25" drive bays

Defo need 7 bays. Putting in 2 caddies filled with hard drives (3 bays each) and then a cd drive :)

oh ok well that all i can see. how many hdds do you have cause the Lian-Li PC-101 Aluminum Mid Tower can hold quite a lot

nah its no problem, appreciate the help :)

Ok, will need to hold 10 drives in a raid format and 1 system drive. 11 in total. So as you can imagine removeable drives would be much easier should one fail than opening up the tin every time :)

cheers for the input :) However, the stacker is a bit too big but we definately need 7 bays :(

Will keep looking. Cheers all the same though :)

Can you provide me with the maximum depth the case can be please, as for 7 bays you are going to have issue with either the height or the depth within the realms of a 'mainstream' case more than likely.

Not knowing your exact requirements, but a 'bodge' rackmount case which holds ATX could be an option, OEM RM4009 4U case, the design was used by IBM for a while aswell in some of their older SBS servers.

It may not be what you are looking for, but without the exact dimensions of what you are after it is quite hard to find something suitable, if you can provide the full space you have to work with it would be a great help. :)

I had this exact problem mate :(

Ended up getting a PC6077 anyway :s ... know i paid over the odds compared to the PC-7+ etc , but no other case matched the requirements (a ton of 5.25 bays to suspend a lot of hard drives)

All others were :

Cubes
Tall server cases
Had too few 5.25 bays

iirc about 5 or 6 is the MAX i could find in that size case, other than the PC6077 , of which i could only find black
