Lian Li RGB woes :(

Hi

I'm after some advice with RGB fans and their plugs.

I have a Lian Li Lancool Mesh II RGB. It came with 3 RGB fans, they have these plugs on with pins 1,3,4 connected.



I bought a Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO. It came with 3 RGB fans, they have the same plus on the end with 1,3,4 connected.

They plug into these on my case:



All is good in the world. 3 intakes at the front, 2 exhausts at the top and 1 at the back.

I have now bought 5 Lian Li SL120 RGB fans. To replace my 3 original case fans and to add two addiotional fans as intake below my GPU.

Simple....Except the RGB plus is this 3 PIN.



Sigh.

Do I need an adaptor? can I simply move the pin on my case plugs so they are 2,3,4 and then the pins will line up with these?

Does your motherboard have ARGB headers? You could route your AIO headers into one and the output from the SL fan hub into another and control them with software? (Or use a splitter)

Yes, there's multiple 4 pin headers.

I've decided to buy some more fans in a pack with a controller. That will solve the issue.

I think the 4pin is 12v and the 3pin is 5v so you don't want to mix them up.

Yeah, information does not seem to exist beyone "just plug them in". A controller solves any issues.
