Lian Li, Spot the Difference

Not the first time when differences are only external.
Full tower A70/71 have been such for years. Using common frames allows more economical manufacturing of more models.

There good case's.
I used a PC-7FN for a build the other day and was well impressed. It's the same inside as these but without the window.Very well thought out inside good cable management bottom mounted psu and dust filters.Oh and the PC-7FN does come with a blue led 140mm front intake fan ;)

Are the motherboard trys removeable?

Nope - but there's enough room/space for MB fitting not to be a problem - and the HDD caddy is very well designed.

My only major complaint is that it's not as sturdy as my past Coolermaster cases.

EDIT: I have the Lian Li PC-7FN which doesn't have a window:

Whats the noise and cooling like.

Have you got any pics with your kit installed?

Im planning on putting a H50 in it so the airflow will be reversed. Not sure how thats going to be.

The noise level is very subjective and will be relative to what you were using before.

For example, my PC-7FN replaced an ageing Coolermaster case which had 4 x 80mm Xilence fans which were running at 1500RPM/12v continuously – to keep my clock and system cool.

In contrast the PC-7FN only has 1 x 140mm intake and a single 120mm outtake at the rear (you would reverse these if fitting the H50 in the orthodox manner). The larger fans running at lower RPM coupled with the PSU mounted at the bottom of the case seems to compensate for the lack of a top exhaust fan and additional fans and is easily as cool as my previous quad fan setup.

Relative silence was paramount for me so I deliberately chose a case without a top vent to reduce noise levels – plus I knew I could mod the case if I thought it would benefit from a top outtake in the future.

As already mentioned, it’s considerably quieter than my previous setup. My only complaint is that the Coolermaster, although considerably louder, had a continuous uniform whooshing noise. The PC-7FN is almost whisper quiet in comparison (subjective) but the front fan makes an audible pulsing hum which verges on annoying for me personally. As a consequence, I’m going to try a 7v mod on the 4 pin connectors and see if I can still retain sufficient cooling with reduced fan speed/noise. If I can then this would prove to be the perfect case/compromise.

You shouldn’t have any problems fitting the H50 see pic below. Note that the distance from the back of the case to the 5.25 bays is 300mm and would fit the new generation of ATi cards in the first PCI-e slot.

If you wanted/needed to you could fit a front 5.25 fan bay and draw the air in for the H50 rad from there and it would have a straight path to the rear outlet thanks to the PSU being situated at the bottom of the case.
