Lian-Li TR-3b controller

I have it but dont unfortunately have a picture of it, but it has a nice blue backlight with the text in black.

To be honest it is a bit of a bugger to setup with the instructions on a small single side of paper. The shade of blue if interested is similar to that on my razer deathadder but im sure if you google it you may come across pictures of it.

I have one on my black pc-60 and it compliments it well.

Can you change the power/speed of the fans? I see it says fan control on the product description but I don't see how you could do it with just two buttons.

Taken from a review

Remember that the unit automatically controls fanspeed in relation to temperature, so when the probe is detecting a temperature just under the threshold you've set, it runs the fan at high speed. I managed to heat up the probe by placing it in my hand for a few seconds, and as soon as it hit the 31'c threshold, a surprisingly loud alarm sounded and the LCD stayed on the CPU information display, frantically flashing the temperature at me - during all this it kicked the fan into max speed. Now, if my processor was about to melt into some sort of silicon soup, this is exactly the kind of warning I'd want my computer to give me, aside from shutting itself off or flashing up an onscreen warning (Windows generally covers that, though!), although those features - unless hardwired into the motherboard - sometimes don't come into play until the system has booted into Windows, and by then it may be too late.

Either way, this unit has an impressive warning system, so much so that I recorded it using my digital camera and have hosted an MP3 of my 'overheat scenario' for all to hear.

It's also worth noting that this unit is powerful enough to cater for high drain fans as well, such as the HE DELTA and Vantec Tornado series: bare in mind the unit is designed for standard fans, so you'd need to get a 4pin to 3pin converter for the Tornado fans and forgo the automatic speed monitoring system - all the unit can do is monitor these type fans, not control them.

In the case of the DELTA fans, automatic speed control is possible, but only at voltage levels - the controller doesn't know you've got a super high speed fan connected, so it would only reduce the speed of the fan in relation to a voltage to temperature ratio. This isn't a bad thing though, the fans still run a lot quieter when the temperature of the area it is monitoring is low.
