Hey guys,
Just asking if any of you have got the Lian Li V1000PLUS case, I am thinking about buying this for my new build but I'm still not completely sure.
From the looks of it, it looks great with all the cooling, ie. the CPU fan duct and that VGA fan that's included.
Anyone know if OcUK has this? (I know the V1000 is listed as the PLUS version but it does not mention the PLUS features).

I'm fairly sure they are actually shipping the plus II version that has the side mounted 120mm fan rather than the 120mm blower box. It's significantly better.

If you're even remotely hesitating, just don't. Click the box, dial sales, walk down to Imex Business Park - whatever - buy a V1000B Plus II.

Make sure you buy extra stealth plates if you have more than 1 optical drive too as you won't want to ruin the clean lines.

When you first pull back the side-panel fixing bolt and lift the side panel off, have a look at how thick it is. That's 2mm aluminium. Only the Zalman Fata1ity has thicker walled panels. Then marvel at the neat interior. When you put the motherboard in, you notice how everything lines up, no forcing the motherboard into place? That's because they check the placement of the chassis mounting screws precisely before it leaves the factory. Every single case. Check out the neat HDD mountings. They're not tool free, but better!

All the screws, all the fixings, everything is just a higher quality than usual. You will not regret buying a Lian Li V-series case.

And you are going to get a black one - aren't you? ;)

Ditto on the above. And it WILL be a Plus II you get. Just bought one from OCUK last week and it's a Plus II with the side vent.

Really great case. Beautiful to look at and easy to work with. I wouldn't say it's flawless, but it's the best case I've had for a while and a solid investment. These cases hold their value well!

:D

Then you should send it back. They'll have the QA guy that checked it stripped of his white coat and micrometer screwguage. And the guy that actually assembled it will have to wear a sign saying "I assembled a case that was not flawless". And all the other Lian Li staff will cry with shame.

Sorry - but I just had some VERY good news, and I'm in a VERY good mood at the moment.

And it is a VERY good case.

My only slight gripe was that my side panel sticks when I pull it off. I even manage to cut myself on it the first time as I was pulling hard and then it just released, and the rippled edge sliced into my thumb. Not pleasant. Did not want to send back just for this though. I can probably fix it by bending something! Other thing was the fact that they don't make it easy to add a new fan to the side extraction fan. Had to enlarge the holes on the bracket to get standard fan screws to fit through it. Easy enough to do though. Apart from that, it's great! Highly recommended!

So, WJA, what's your VERY good news... I'm intrigued... win the lottery? ;)

So your complaints are basically that you're a 9-stone weakling with soft skin and you don't like the engineered fan mount? :D

It wouldn't make much sense I'm afraid - we're got a contract in Slovakia where the beer is good (it's the other half of Czechoslovakia and we all know how good Czech beer is) and cheap (60p/500ml in bars) and the women are similar ;) and it's something I've been working on for about 10 weeks now and it's come off perfectly and I'm really, really pleased. :D

I'm a strongman actually. I've won Mr Universe and The World's Strongest man several times, and this panel is still one stubborn SOB!

Congrats! Cheap beer and women in plentiful supply are certainly two things worth being in a good mood about! Until the beer runs dry and the women steal all your money and leave you penniless and heatbroken, your life in tatters and all your dreams lying in ruins across the barron wasteland that is your wretched and worthless life.

;)

Buy the case.
You won't regret it. ;)
(If you are getting a modular PSU - It will be very tricky to fit it without removing the rear HDD mounting cage. So either get a normal PSU, or have 3 HDD's or less)

Top cases tho.

Now then - I've looked at Lian-Li etc, but is it possible to purchase the side fan mounting thing separately?
(I have the V1000 +, but not the + II, so have the blower - Does the job, but still warmer than I'd like)

Not asking where to get it, just if it is possible to get it.
(Will cut a hole in the window if so. :) )

So it's just like Norfolk then? :D

You can, but I've only seen this in the US. Try to contact Lian Li UK and see if they can tell you where you could buy this. You probably can somewhere.

Oddly enough - you can buy the blower fan, but you can't buy the "Patent Cooling System" in the UK, but it is available as a spare part in the US. I can't give you the site as they obviously ship to the UK and are therefore a competitor, but they are available. Also - the newer windowed side panels already have the grilles cut into them.

There is no Lian Li UK sadly - they deal through an agent in Germany and they did have a trade-only agent in Manchester but they seem to have disappeared.

Wow, the PLUSII version, awesome! :)
Thanks for the help guys, phoning OcUK now to order it + a new PSU as the old one is only 500W and I need more power for my crossfire :p
Will post pics when I get it :D
I mean, the main reason why i'm getting this is because of the cooling, my PC-7+ was the best damn case i've ever had but now I thought i'd give myself a nice birthday present.
How can a case look soo simple and yet be sooo damn sexy
And my new Tagan 700W will make it all sweeter, it's a modular PSU so it should fit just fine :D

OK - so was I lying about the thickness of the side panels? It is the best built case you've ever seen, yes?

You might want to think about reducing the size of the piccies a bit. I've got a 24" monitor and I still had to scroll sideways to see it all! I think they recommend 800x600 or something.

If I still had my modem I would have come and broken your legs.

Its just lazy not compressing/re-sizing those pictures, I can't even look at them properly on a 24" TFT.

wow smaller pics thank you
and i think the v series have thick panels than the other version is this true?
