Lian-Li V1100 and Antec Phantom 500

Hmmm seems from a quick google that the new Phantom runs cooler than the old, as it got very toasty in the compartment.

I see nothing to suggest that it will not fit, and it should be fine for stability due to it being cooler than the old Phantom.

If your having troube fitting it in, you can remove the PSU lower support bracket, and also remove the hard drive cage.

Hope that helps a bit, if you have any really complex problems buzz me on msn :)

I did think of removing one of the cages but I thought that might not be a good idea as its there for a reason. Also where you remove the metal bit to slide the PSU in, I can't put that back on even if I could fit it in as the part where I connect the Power lead is in the way. Is this a big set-back?

I also red that the Phantom 500 is a lil bit bigger than the 350. I'm wondering if I should return it for a different PSU or if there is some method and safe way around this.

You can remove the cages just fine, unless you need the space for drives, you only take out the poor cooled cage anyhow :)

And if you remove the support bracket it is just attached like a PSU is in a normal case, no bad effects.

Remember the PSU has to fit in with the ATX standards so it will have to fit into a ATX case, which the v series all are (or bigger).

Oh right, the ATX compatible thing you brought up does give me a positive thought then. I will do some more digging with this build tomorrow now though as its 1am.

Thanks, that has sort of put my mind to rest!

Apprently you have to remove the Hard Drive cage to fit it in.

I will do this when I get home, now I just have to look at the support bracket as I think this needs to be on?

With my v1100 i had to remove the last panel which sat between the two hard drive cages and the psu compartment and my Enermax Liberty fitted with no real problems - apart from i chose to mount it upside down as when inserted it the correct way up it had the 120mm fan "very" close to the panel above - rendering it nigh on ineffective :/
Other'n that it's all been good !
Great case :D

You were just having a blonde moment, only reason why I could help is because I originally did almost exactly the same thing.

ALL cases need to come with better instruction manuals, thats for sure!
