Well here is my first go at doing a build log for all of you guys.

Will be having:
Q6600
8800GTX
4GB G.Skill DDR2-1000
PA120.3
Other usual stuff :p

And what better way to start it than to show you what turned up at my doorstep this morning :p

A very big box!

Opening it up...

I have to say I have never owned a lian li before so this was a new experience...

Out the packaging

The internals

All I have to say so far is this is a very very nice looking case which is pretty damn huge!

More to come, just uploading stuff now

Ok, so I ordered a Lian Li case, but you can't have a v2000b without a pa120.3!!! :D

Here she is!!

CIMG0107.jpg

I have a PA120.2 atm, but the size difference is amazing :D

I then started stripping the internals of the case to make way for the radiator...HDD racks out first

CIMG0115.jpg

Then the rivets holding the psu support bracket were drilled out and the rear PSU panel flipped over

I also wanted a nice place to stick my reservoir. I was thinking about using a bay reservoir again but tbh I have grown sick of the bubbles that I get using my danger den one, so I opted for an EK Multires 150. Here it is mounted in the case (sorry for bad picture).

This thread will continue as I get more parcels (CHRISTMAS AGAIN!!!! :D) and get more work done. This post is just the start! Still need to do some more cutting; the fillport hole needs to be cut, the hole for the grill + radiator in the bottom and a window in the sidepanel will all be coming soon.

did a water build in my v2000 about a month ago check it out in my sig might give you some ideas :p looking good so far

Nice build steveo :P

I'm really scratching my head on a side panel design. The grill in the top right is properly pee'ing me off!

What do you guys think about this:

I'm just worried about not enough window to see all my goodies :(

Cut that grill out too.

Have the window roughly the size and shape of the mobo tray (rounded corners).

I can't stand seeing the sides of the 5.25 drive bays.

Yeh, if I cut the grill out too I have to use the same radius in the rounded edge of the grill in all my cuts.

I'll whip something up tonight (if some bits come) and see how it goes.

ok, it's a v1k instead of a v2k, but this is the window i cut for mine... i also cut the grill out, and was much happier with the result that i think i would have been with the grill still in:

im going for something like the above (vipers!) and another section underneath that will have mesh in it. Like the new v1kz but in 2 sections. Look in my design a sidepanel thread for a pic :) Wheres your pump going :D?

Haven't decided on pump placement atm, but I have an idea where it is going to be.

Just a few small updates today; got some stuff in the post and did a little cutting.

I moved the rear wheels of the case back about an inch to allow room for the radiator grill. Simple case of drilling and re-tapping the hole.

I then made the hole in the roof of the case for the fillport.

Flawless victory :p

Tommorow the bottom of the case comes out (almost finished that today, but will continue with that tommorow) and I will get the sidepanel cut out for you guys too.

Cheers:cool:

Ok guys time for an update, doing this from a laptop atm as I am currently moving all my bits into the case.

First off today I finished cutting the hole in the bottom of the case

With the grill installed

I then decided to attack my sidepanel :p So I masked it all up with tape

And some quick mockup pics of what it will look like, the panel itself came out nice, I was happy with it:
