Hi all, i have a Lian Li full tower case that is brushed alluminium (silver) and was thinking of spraying it black, can it be done, anyone have any tips? or would i be better off putting it in a spray shop if it can be done.

Bye,

Ian...

Personally I would look to sell your case and purchase a new black Lian Li case.

Well obviously you'd say that, you work for a shop that sells cases.

What if it is a case that is no longer sold? What if it is a case that has had personal modification?

Thanks for the replys, i did think about a new case but i use air cooling and have heard the Corsair one is not to good for that, also i dont like the idea of having the psu at the bottom of the case. My Lian li is very good and has lots of room and they dont seem to make it anymore, they did do a black version. So you cant spray alluminium ?, i dont mind paying up to £100 to get it done.

Not sure of the model, its 22.5 inches high, 8.5 inches wide, 23.5 inches front to back, has 6 cd rom blanking plates and 3 floppy drive plates, usb under flap at front bottom and a grill with dust filter near the bottom. Purchased from Overclockers years ago. Have got a price for powder coating £50, will be going for that but want to do some thing about cables (cutting holes in backplate) .

If you do the cutting of cable holes with a dremel(-a-like), file it and sand the edges, and send it off for anodising after all that, it's worth a look

Anodising it black will get a better finish than powdercoating, as the brushed aluminium effect will still last :)

Thanks for the reply, i think it is a Pc70. Would like to loose the brushed ally effect and have a high gloss finish. I will get all the cutting ect done before painting.

Bye,

Ian...
