Right well i am buying my new computer in a few weeks and think i am gona lay down the cash for the V1000+.
I am going to have a fairly high end rig so need decent cooling but want it to be very quiet.
I was planning on putting a Seasonic PSU in there as well as buying 3 Akasa ambers to replace the case fans provided, and then use a Scythe Ninja Plus with its supplied fan to cool the CPU.

My question... if i want to get this setup very quiet, is the TR-3 fan controller a good bet or should I just 7v all (or all case but not the cpu) fans?

If i were to use the TR-3 should i connect all the case fans or just 2 of them and the CPU?
If not the CPU then do i connect that to the motherobard and get the motherboard software to control it's fan speed?
Also, if i am using the TR-3/7v the fans, is there any need to replace the stock ones with ambers?

I hope that makes sense.
Thanks

The TR3 wont allow you to adjust your fans, as such i would advise you to go for the 7 volt mod option.

the blurb says it automatically adjusts your fan speeds?
i realise i wouldn't be able to do it manually with it but though i could se the temperature threshhold at a point at which meant the fans were quite most of the time.

7V sounds good to me too though, is that to all 4 fans? or should i let the mobo adjust the fan on the Scythe?

The TR3a, to my fiddling about with it had no option for any relation between fan speed and temperature, as a fan controller it is next to useless.

ok thankyou.
i guess the blurb/review about it are rubbish then :)

cheaper to 7V then. Is the easiest way just to modify a molex connector or is there some cheap and easy solution that i can buy?

i had thought of using speedfan but i doubt my mobo is gonna have 4 fan headers on it or is it quite likely that it will?

gonna be something like a RD600 crossfire mobo....

ok 7V it is. Lets hope i have plenty of spare molex connectors laying about.
THink it will be a job for my electrical engineering housemate to help me with so i don't do anything stupid :)

thanks for the help and fast responses guys!

You use a molex adapter :p , I do not think you can do it, just but a resistor in is the only way for a straight 3 pin fan.

I stand to be proven wrong, bar a resistor I know of no way you could 7v with the 3pin and the only +/- and speed wires.

yeah i have seen a resistor at a competitors for 3 pin fans.
