Can anyone tell me, what license i need to install Office 2007 Standard edition onto another PC?

Also how much is this likely to cost? License only as i have 3 cd's just sitting here.

I've searched but there are so many licensing option from a bunch of different retailers, i'm not 100% sure what's legit and what isn't and how much it should cost.

Thanks

I don't think that is by accident, either.

If this is for business, you should have a licensing manager you can talk to, usually with one of the big IT resellers etc, you must have accounts with these places?

Either way it depends on what licenses you currently have, e.g. if you have a OVS license, then I have been told that this 'invalidates' retail licenses for Office, (even if you previously bought them before you bought an OVS) until either expires or bought out. etc.. it's a total minefield, and you are bent over by arbitrary made up rules.

I've got 3 boxed copied of Office Standard 2007

Presume it's just a standard retail license

We're just a small business of 3 to 4 employees, IT has been bought in a piecemeal fashion rather than always through a big supplier.

Is there an easy check?

Generally, unless the box states otherwise, a retail box copy is just one license per box.

Now that is a very general statement, but usually rings true for most software.

1 box = 1 install.

So you'll most likely need to just purchase another retail version.

For the cost of one extra copy of Office I think it is worth avoiding any kind of licensing pitfalls. I know there is a version of Office you can install on a PC and Laptop, but I think that is one of the Home/Student versions.

Retail Office licences work on a user based scheme not a device one. Therefore, you can install it on one desktop and up to two mobile devices.

But remembering that all "three devices" need to be used by the same user.
You can't install on one desktop and then somebody else's laptop.

At the volume you're currently buying - just buy a retail copy.

That's why I said generally and to check what the box says :)

As said, in this case it sounds like it is for a different user thus would need a new box product.
