Licensing Sharepoint 2013....

Just wondering what you think would be the best way of licensing our Sharepoint 2013 server.

We've got roughly 42 machines and about 50 staff. Of those 42 machines I'd say about half are thin clients and all connect to one server which users work on.

How do you go about licensing it for users who work via RDP on thin clients? Technically they will all be accessing from the same computer so only one device CAL would be needed wouldn't it?

Or should I be looking to just license on a user basis?

As with any question regarding Microsoft licensing, the answer is to talk to your Microsoft sales rep. The licensing costs and the benefits of doing it one way or another depend on your company and use cases.

It'll be per user basis in my experience. Thin client or not.
