When I first started testing 1rm's I had to decrease the reps as I went along, so probably would be better to do less on the 117.5 like ice said. Only you know what your bodys doing though mind.

See the post above. I don't think it was the build up, it was trying to do 160 after doing 130, 140 and 155.

Here's how it looks now.
55x5
70x5
82.5x3
105x3
117.5x2
140x1
150x1
160x1

Up to 150 it will be pretty smooth sailing, if my body is up to it.

build up still uses energy, do what you feel comfortable doing, i think you bench often enough not to need to do so much of a build up.

just smash it man :)
 
side note, i might be able to get to the gym tonight but not 100% sure, i will drop you a text after i have finished work and gone home
