What things have been said to you, or that you've heard someone say or read someone say, that you've really liked and kept in the back of your mind?

Example, I'll always remember when I was about 12, my mum once saying to me

"never wish you were someone else".

Meaning, we often wish we were that wealthy successful person we just met or saw on TV. The grass is always greener, but who knows if that person is destined for a short life or some life changing accident, or anything else. So basically, it's saying live and enjoy your own life and don't worry about wanting to be someone else.

Just now, watching a movie about film directors from years ago. This particular one said

"everything great that happens on set,...is an accident. So I believe in quantity. The more times we do it, the more chances of that accident happening".

Now this is something quite obvious, but it kind of hit home with me that being successful in life, in any way not just money, is all about doing, doing, doing and then some. Kind of like, throw enough mud against the wall and some of it will stick.

What nuggets of gold do you keep in mind that you feel really help you? :)

"You can get way with just about anything...As long as you do it quietly" !!

My Mum said that as I got another "Producer". My car (Hillman Hunter) had slash cut straight through zoomies on !!

aaah to be 17 again !

Mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter.

What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

Experience is the name we give to our mistakes.

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better” (Maya Angelou)

"Whilst there's life there's hope"

In other words never give up, use what you have do what you can. Live, learn, evolve... it's in your hands:)
