Lifespan of a TFT

Hi All,

I've just got a new 2001FP Dell monitor to run a dual setup. My old monitor is a Dell 2000FP. Now the thing I've noticed either via DVI or VGA is that the new monitor is noticeably brighter and seems sharper.

The 2000FP is over 2 years old now and has had a fair bit of use.

From checking the specs they both have the same brightness 250cdm, the only difference is the older one has 350 contrast rather than 400 of the new one.

So my question is - Is the 2000FP just old and loosing its brightness or is it some other hidden spec difference between the two?

all tft monitors lose there brightness with time, its how they work, nothing to be concerened about though, I actually prefer them after a year or 2, as new is just to bright! lol
