Hi all

Had to RMA my mobo and have been emailed this evening to say it's replacement is on the way!

I suddenly realised I'm going to have to reapply some paste when re-assembling everything (doh!)

As the build I did a year ago involved a Arctic Freezer Pro with it's own thermal pad - I never ordered any paste at the time of the build.

Now though, I'm gonna need some as I said....

I've rummaged through my PC bits and bobs draw and found some paste thats probably 4yrs+ old.....I'm wondering if it'll still be OK to use!

What dya reckon....?

cheers :)

Yeah, spose you're right....it's not the expense of getting some new stuff, it's just I've gotta wait in for it to be delivered, which knowing sods law, will be about 5 to 5  ......

I was thinking more about the hassle of going into town, finding some parking, traipsing to the pooter shop etc etc; when I'll wanting to be cracking on with putting it all back together again......and I've got almost a full tube of the stuff here already! :(

ive used old paste before and it's been fine, paste only need to be replaced after it's been heated by a CPU for a year or more. You'll be fine:)

Ive used old paste before without any problems, usually i stand the tube with the nozzle pointing down for a while to ensure the solution doesnt separate.

For convenience or a normal pc the old paste will do fine.
If you're overclocking or just want to get the lowest temps then some cash spent on new paste wouldn't do any harm :)
