Hi
been making great progress on my deadlifts and barbell shrugs but recently ive been having some trouble

the problem is not the weight but rather the barbels causing a lot of pain to my hands and fingers and im unable to complete my sets
i asked of the assistant and he recommends i get something called a lifting strap
will this help me or is he just trying to sell me something

thanks

thanks for all the replies
i have 1 more question

i would like to do squats with a standard barbell instead of using the squat machine but the bar is too uncomfortable on my back

would this item help
http://www.goldsfitnessequipment.co.uk/support-wraps-and-straps/golds-gym-barbell-pad.html
or is there a certain place i can place the barbell so it doesn't hurt so much
I've seen other guys do heavy squats with the standard bar so i guess its possible

also Chong Warrior is your first name Trevor :)

thanks

I find the more weight you use when squatting you're almost forced to put the bar onto the rear delts for better balance ;)

No mate, funny you ask though.

there's a guy at my gym called Trevor Chong
hes a championship contender and you seem to know you stuff

i know your location says Manchester but since you have spurs in your sig i thought you might have moved to north london or something so i guess it "could" have been you
