Light and Magic (Special Effects / Star Wars)

Hi all - just flagging that there is an absolutely sensational documentary (on Disney+) about Industrial Light and Magic and the making of Star Wars (and presumably other films in later episodes) showing how they did the special effects. There is a real sense of stress and deadlines etc... the blood, sweat and tears behind getting it all done. It's really neat to see George Lucas driving it all along plus the effects work is ace. I never realised how they did those composite images with paintings... in a shed

Good stuff - FYI it does indeed go onto other films. The episode this evening (which I think was episode 4 or 5) showed how they did the ‘imploding house’ shot in Poltergiest… super interesting IMO.
