Hello All,

I've got a simple light box kit, only a cheap one off ebay just to have a play with. I've taken this quick picture while my son's asleep.

If anyone could offer me any tips or links to some good info on how to learn / improve that would be great!

Thanks,
Big Mac

Hi there, that's looking pretty good. What kind of box is it? does it have built in lights or do you shoot through with an off camera flash? A picture of your set-up could maybe help a little as well as the gear you are using.

A tip for focusing manually is by switching to live view and zooming in on precisely what you want in focus depending on your DOF/F number. A tripod is a must aswell.

I built my own and had loads of fun experimenting with it, changing the angle of the flash and diffusing the light differently etc.

If your interested my post is Here

Thanks for the reply :D

Ive got just a cheap kit like the one below. It seems alright for a starter and only cost £30 so not much at all.

I will give manual focus a bash as my 50mm was struggling with focusing on my iPhone.

I'll give that link a read :D :D

Hi there just another few wee tips,

Use a remote for triggering the shutter, if you don't have one use either a 2 or 10 second delay to avoid any camera shake.

Im not familiar with Nikon kit but fid the sweet f number for your lens and use that, canon kit lense is around f8 for me.

And lastly have fun :D
