Light bulb help - G2

Trying to source a light bulb.

Printed on the Bulb is Homebase 240v/40w/G2 a Google search for this or just G2 bulb does not seem to bring up anything like what I have removed from the socket. Have the codes changed in recent years?

The light could have been there for years as it was in the house when I moved in.

Anyone any idea on what bulb I should be looking at as a replacement

Brilliant thanks, why didn't they just print that on there then! Would make it a lot easier.

Scroll down to the fitting section, the two common types for 240V fittings are E14 (SES) and E27 (ES). Anything bigger or smaller tends to be specialist/industrial etc
