Hello,

I'm looking for help with a budget gaming build. I'm so out of touch with Pc's I've no idea which would be the best route for me to take.

The things I will definitely not need are: OS, Keyboard/Mouse, Monitor, DVD Drive or Hard Drive.

The games I would like to play are those such as Left for Dead, Battlefield 3, World of Tanks and perhaps the new Oblivion.

I'd love to be able to play these on my TV at 720p or 1080p but I'm not sure what I'd need for that. I do have a monitor with a resolution of 1680*1050 which has DVI and VGA input.

Case wise anything smallish will do something base around the mATX form factor is fine for me.

I have been offered for free an Nvidia GTX 460 1024MB and a Gigabyte motherboard which fits a socket 1555 CPU, it's a H61 chipset and I believe this is mATX. I don't if either of these will be of use to me with what I want to achieve.

My budget to complete this build is £200-£300. Not much I know but I'm happy to not have the best performance. As long as it's on a par or better than that of console and the graphics don't look like utter rubbish that's okay with me.

Any advice you can give me will be appreciated as at the moment I'm struggling to find what will work best.

Thanks,

I don't need the DVD drive or the HDD so the later is well within budget. Will the i3 be okay for games like battlefield 3 especially on the multiplayer side of things?

I'm willing to consider the AMD route rather than intel. People seem to rave about intel but if AMD will be in budget and offer me just as good performance I'm fine with that.
