Light Gaming laptop

2nd hand Dell XPS 14, around £500, 8gb ram, i5 ivy bridge, Geforce 630m.

I got one the other day and it eats through the games im playing no problems at all. (xcom, civ 5, dawn of war 2 etc)

I have an Acer Timeline M3-581TG - technically an Ultrabook - mine is i3 with gt640m gpu, capable of some pretty decent gaming. Does not throttle, like some other lappies out there with discrete gfx...

There are i5 variants too.....also has a mSata slot, which means you can run a SSD as well as internal HDD - supplied with a 20GB unit for Intel RST etc., but easily replaced (I now have a 128GB Plextor P128M5M)

Just got an Asus NV56VM for work that's a pretty good all rounder: 15.6" 1920x1080, Ivy i5 2.5GHz/3.1 turbo, nVidia 630m, 16gb ram and blu ray.

Came in at £630, but I believe there's a VJ variant with a 640M - if you traded off some memory for the graphics you might find a winner at your price point.
