"Light" Gaming Laptop?

Hi folks - I need to get a laptop for uni. In terms of college work, it doesn't need to be powerful at all, being used mainly for Office, browsing, Netflix etc etc. However, I'd like to be able to do some light gaming on it too. Basically older games on high settings, or recent games on low settings (I'd especially like to be able to play XCOM 2 on it next February, even at low settings). 1080P is fine.

I'm just wondering where the sweet spot is as regards grunt vs weight? As I say, I don't need a very powerful machine. Is it possible to get something for less demanding games but would still be relatively light to carry around?

I confess I know next to nothing about laptops, so I'd really appreciate any feedback!

There is an Asus X555LA for sale from a popular retailer which has the following specs:

i5-5200U
8GB RAM
1080p Screen
1TB disk drive

There are a few different versions of this model so you'll need to double check the specs. I think OCuk have a similar model but with only a 1366x768 screen . The retailer doesn't list the full model number.
